NVIS, Inc. is proud to announce partnership with Upserve POS, the #1 point-of-sale provider for upscale restaurants in North America.
Point of Sale (POS) represents a $60 billion industry, projected to more than double in the US alone . Credit card and consumer data theft is rampant, to this day. PCI DSS compliance isnot enough. Millions are still lost daily from establishments due to hacking of data in transit.
Target’s POS system was attacked and its payment card readers were subsequently infected. As a result, attackers compromised the credit card information of 40 million customers. A year later, POS attack on Home Depot led to the stealing of card data belonging to 56 million customers.
In 2017, Chipotle Mexican Grill suffered a point of sale attack that took place from March 24 to April 18. Its POS system was infected with malware designed to steal card numbers, expiration dates and verification codes. The number of victims wasn’t disclosed, but we can assume that it was huge since Chipotle admitted that most of its 2,250 restaurants during that three week period of time were affected by the attack
With NVIS layer 2 encryption, Upserve POS will have superior prevention end-to-end, from the POS terminal to the backoffice in the AWS cloud.
